CMAT February 2013 exam has finally come to an end.  The CMAT 2013 was held from February 21, 2013 to February 24, 2013. CMAT 2013 Exam Analysis - CMAT February 2013 exam has finally come to an end.  The CMAT 2013 was held from February 21 , 2013 to February 24, 2013. According to the CMAT 2013 exam analysis, the over difficulty level of the CMAT exam was moderate to difficult. This means candidates had to prepare well for the NMAT 2013 exam. CMAT 2013 exam analysis was done right after the exam was held. The analysis of CMAT exams was done in order to provide future CMAT aspirants with first hand information on how the exam was conducted and what were the key elements witnessed on the exam day.

About CMAT

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) - a National Level Management Test conducted twice a year. Until 2018, CMAT was administered by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which is now replaced by National Testing Agency (NTA). From 2019 onwards, NMAT exam will be conducted by NTA in computer-based format. NTA will conduct the NMAT 2019 on January 28, 2019. CMAT 2019 aspirants will be able to register for the exam from November 1, 2018 onwards and can fill the form up to November 30, 2018. CMAT is a gateway for admissions into postgraduate management programs including MBA, PGDM and PGDBM among others. As many as 64,000 students take the CMAT entrance test each year.

CMAT Exam Analysis 2013: SECTIONAL OVERVIEW

According to the analysis of CMAT exam, the paper consisted of 4 sections in total with 25 questions under each section.

The sections were as mentioned below:

1. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation.
2. Verbal Ability.
3. Analytical Reasoning.
4. General Awareness

SECTION-WISE DETAILED ANALYSIS

SECTION-I: Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation

This section basically covered the following topics from Mathematics. It can be said the questions in this section range from Moderate Level to Difficult Level. Specially 2 sets of questions were on Data Interpretation including 1 Bar Graph and 1 Pie Chart and 2 questions were on Data Sufficiency as well that seemed to be on the tougher side:-

a. Number system
b. Linear Equation
c. Inequalities 
d. Pipes & Cisterns
e. Averages
f. Profit & Loss
g. Ratio & Percentages
h. Probability
i. Permutation & Combination
j. Mensuration.
k. Co-ordinate Geometry
l. Mixture & Alligation
m. Sets on D.I (Data Interpretation) accounted for simple and basic calculations like addition, percentages etc.

CMAT 2013 Exam Analysis- SECTION-II Verbal Ability

This section comprised moderate level questions with a major inclination and emphasis on the Critical Reasoning topic. There were Reading Comprehension Passages as well. It covered the essential grammatical portions like: Para-jumbles, Fill in the blanks, vocabulary, Critical Reasoning, Idioms, Usage of Adjectives etc. Those candidates having basic grammatical knowledge would have found this particular section to be somewhat easy.

SECTION-III: Analytical Reasoning

This particular section consisted of questions whose difficulty level can be catered from Moderate to Difficult. The emphasis here was on Grouping and Conditionality Questions. Besides, proper time allocation and selecting right questions were the keys to attempt this section aptly. The topics covered were:

a) Blood relations
b) Linear Arrangement
c) Data Arrangement
d) Sitting Arrangement
e) Direction based Questions
f) Coding-Decoding
g) Alphabet Series

h) Calenders

SECTION: IV: General Awareness

One of those sections that always tease the candidates is General Awarenes. It was of the moderate level and many of the questions were from current Affairs. Those who had a habit of reading newspapers daily found this particular section to be quite easy. The other topics that this section covered were:

a. Geography 
b. Banking
c. Sports
d. Arts & Culture
e. History
f. Politics & elections
g. Business

Overall, the CMAT 2013 was a success  for those who had prepared for the exam. There were no surprise elements reported and the CMAT 2013 exam was free of technical glitches.
