    Explanation:

    The Union Government has approved the creation of a Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units Development Refinance Agency (MUDRA) loans recently on January 6, 2017. The creation of this fund will guarantee more than 1 lakh crore rupees worth of loans to micro and small units in the first instance. The Credit Guarantee Fund for MUDRA Units (CGFMU) was established for guaranteeing loans sanctioned under the scheme- Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana with effect from 8 April 2015. It has objective to reduce the credit risk to Banks/NBFCs/MFIs/other financial intermediaries, who are Member Lending Institutions (MLIs). The Trustee of the Fund will be the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd. (NCGTC Ltd) which is a wholly-owned by Government of India constituted in 2013 under the Companies Act, 1956 to manage and operate various credit guarantee funds. Under the fund, the guarantee would be provided on a portfolio basis to a maximum extent of 50 percent of Amount in Default in the portfolio.

    While inaugurating the 14th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Convention in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government is planning to launch Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana to train Indian youth for overseas employment. Under the programme, skill training will be given in those sectors that have high demand in the global labour market. The training will be of international standards. The programme will be implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in consultation with the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the Union Skill Development Ministry.

    Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has a partnership agreement with CNES, a French Space agency for satellite launch technology.
