Delhi University Released the Sixth Cut Off List 2012, on 14 July 2012

Delhi University released the sixth cut off list on 14 July 2012. Students from the OBC category felt a minor respite with the cut off dipping just a little, irrespective of the fact that the University, last week, had urged the colleges to render a minimum of ten percent relaxation.

The sixth cut off also saw difficult situations this year 2012. Another problem is the outstation students not getting admissions even after getting through the cut-off lists, the reason being many colleges are closing admissions depending on the sanctioned seats

Colleges such as Ramjas, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Miranda House and Matreyi have closed majority of their courses, giving a very bleak glimpse to the handful of students who stand hopeful.

With students protesting against discrimination in admissions this year 2012, human resource development minister Kapil Sibal asked the university to fill all the OBC seats without converting them to general category. He has also asked the colleges to keep coming out with the lists, until all the OBC seats are filled.

With Delhi University in a middle of all the hoopla, and no apparent respite from cut off’s this year, the bigger questions remains as to, what happens to all those students who could not make it through to the top colleges? do they wait for the seventh cut off or take their own course of action? It will only be unveiled after the final blow is done. Till then the show must go on.
