  1. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 2 July 2015 gave its approval to the Central Sector Scheme for Promotion of National Agricultural Market through Agri-Tech Infrastructure Fund (ATIF).  
  2. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 2 July 2015 gave its approval for a new scheme called Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).
  3. The Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India on 30 June 2015 released the data on disabled population by type of disability, type of households and sex – 2011. 
  4. National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) on 30 June 2015 released the 71st Round of its survey on Social Consumption: Education. The survey was conducted for the period of January to June 2014 and portrays the salient features relating to prime indicators on education as on 31 March 2014.


  1. Former Finance Minster of China Jin Liqun was in news as on 6 July 2015 he was nominated by China to be the first president of the Beijing-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
  2. President Pranab Mukherjee on 6 July 2015 inaugurated Nakshatra Vatikaat his official Rashtrapati Nilayam Gardens in Bolarum, Secunderabad. The vatika (garden) has plants representing planets, zodiac signs and stars. 
  3. Renowned Urdu novelist from Pakistan Abdullah Hussain died on 4 July 2015 in Lahore after battling with blood cancer. He was 84.He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
  4. The book titled Modi’s World: Expanding India’s Sphere of Influence authored by C Raja Mohan was published on 19 June 2015 by Harper Collins.
  5. Former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Y K Sabharwal on 3 July 2015 passed away following a prolonged illness. He was 73. He is survived by two sons Chetan and Nitin.
  6. Book 37 Bridges and Other Stories authored by a noted Pakistani author Aamer Hussein book is a new collection of his stories. The book was released on 15 March 2015.


  1. Corporation Bank on 4 July 2015 launched country’s first MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) card under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) in Mangalore, Karnataka.
  2. Mahindra Group subsidiary Mahindra Defence on 3 July 2015 tied-up with European aerospace giant Airbus Helicopters to form a Joint Venture to manufacture defence choppers jointly under the Make in India initiative.

  5. Chandrasekaran Ramakrishnan was on 1 July 2015 appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of India's biggest auto maker Tata Motors' Group with immediate effect. With this, he will continue as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel for Tata Motors Limited.
  6. The board of on 1 July 2015 sacked the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-founder Rahul Yadav with immediate effect. The decision was taken during the regular board meeting held in New Delhi.
  7. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) of United Kingdom (UK) on 1 July 2015 released test results of Nestle’s 2-minute Maggi noodles manufactured in India. FSA in its release said that levels of lead in the product are well within European Union permissible levels and would not be a concern to consumers. 
  8. High Court (HC) of Bombay on 30 June 2015 granted permission to Nestle India to export its 2-minute Maggie noodles. It said that the ban on sale of the noodles within the country will continue.


  1. The Supreme Court of India on 6 July 2015 ruled that an unwed mother can be the sole legal guardian of a child without the consent of the father.
  2. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Chaudhary Birendra Singh on 3 July 2015 released the provisional data from the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 for Rural India.
  3. The Union Cabinet on 2 July 2015 approved the introduction of Common Norms across all skill development schemes being implemented by different Ministries or Departments of Union Government.
  4. India in June 2015 launched online registration system named eMigrate system ( for foreign employers (FEs) who wants to recruit Indian workers, including nurses. Under the system, FEs will have to register in the eMigrate system. 


  1. India and Uzbekistan on 6 July 2015 released a Joint Statement (JS) to intensify security cooperation and exchanges. The JS was released during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Uzbekistan from 6 July to 7 July 2015. He visited Uzbekistan on the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
  2. Japan on 4 July 2015 committed 6.1 billion US dollars (750 billion Japanese Yen) in Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Mekong Region countries for the next three years. The decision was taken by Japan during the seventh Mekong-Japan Summit held in Tokyo.
  3. The World Bank on 1 July 2015 released the annual revised classification of the world's economies based on estimates of gross national income (GNI) per capita for 2014. The GNI calculations are based on World Bank Atlas method.
  4. The Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars of France were on 5 July 2015 granted with the World Heritage Status by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).


  1. United States of America (USA) on July 2015 won the FIFA Women’s World Cup. In the final played at Vancouver, Canada, US defeated Japan, 5-2.
  2. Chile on 4 July 2015 won its first Copa America Cup football tournament. In the final played at the Estadio Nacional (national stadium) in Santiago, Chile defeated Argentina 4-1 through penalties shootout.
  3. India on 5 July 2015 won the South Asian Basketball (SABA) Championship title. In the final played at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, Karanataka, India defeated Sri Lanka 93-44.
  4. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain on 5 July 2015 secured the 2015 Formula 1 British Grand Prix title by winning the final race held at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, England.
