- Fundamentals of Visual Arts, The Elements, Principle of Art and Limbs of Art.
- Importance of Art in Daily Life.
Unit-II. Methods and Materials of Painting
Understanding and appropriate use of :
- Painting Materials- Poster Colours, Water Colours, Acrylic & Fabric Colours, Oil Colours, Oil Pastels Geometry Box and varnish
- Different types of Drawing Sheets, Brushes, Markers, Scale & Drawing Board, Mixing Plate, Tape, Charcoal, Easel stand.
- Still Life Drawing
Unit-III. History of Indian Art:
Appreciation of Indian Art covering selected paintings, sculptures and architectural glimpses:

- Bodhisattava Padmapani (Ajanta)
- Mother Teresa (M.F. Hussain)
Sculptures
- Ashokan Lion capital (Mauryan Period)
- Natraj (Chola Period)
Architecture
- Kailashnatha Temple, (Ellora, Maharashtra)
- Indian Folk Art- Paintings : Sanjhi, Madhubani and Warli
- Landscape, still life and Social Poster with colours.
