The Hero Group has announced on 28 November 2013 to launch a new University -- BML Munjal University (BMU) in Sidhrawali village near Manesar to contribute its worth in higher education in India. As being considered, the university will set a stage for one of the biggest higher-education initiatives this region has seen in a long span of time.
The University with multiple courses on offer 'aspires to transform higher education for the better', as said by its creators.
The joint MD of Hero MotoCorp, Sunil Kant Munjal said that the focus of the university will be on practical-oriented education, and fostering employability. It will instill a range of life skills among students.
The university will have a well-equipped infrastructure including residential facilities as well as an industry-promoted ‘Centre of Excellence' where students will be introduced to the latest technology platforms, real-life projects and hands-on learning, said Munjal.
