The Chairman of CBSE has been directed by The Punjab and Haryana High Court to take decision to upload its website with the answer keys of All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) before the onset of the Evaluation process of the OMR answer sheets. A month’s time is allotted for this purpose to the CBSE.
The bench comprising of Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, and Justice Arun Palli passed the directions, on a case regarding Public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the city resident, Dr Arvind Goyal on Friday. In his PIL Dr. Goyal, who runs a coaching institute for medical aspirants in the city, stated that a provision for uploading the answer keys of AIPMT examination on its website should be done by CBSE before the checking of OMR answer sheets.
Dr. Goyal added in his PIL that, A sense of transparency can be created by if the provision could be made for considering the objections by the subject experts regarding corrections, if any, before the Evaluation process of OMR sheets are initiated.
He further added that “There were various number of controversial/ambiguous questions found in the Biology Section of AIPMT in the past years. Moreover, no matter how much accuracy one tries to keep, some ambiguity or error can inadvertently creep in.” The AIPMT-2014 is scheduled for May 4, across various centres in the country.
