High profile Delegation of Nigerian Government visits Sanskriti Campus

A very high profile delegation of Government of Nigeria visited Sanskriti Campus at Chhata, Mathura on 06 June 2015.

The following distinguished guests visited the Campus-

• Prof. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, OFR- Director General/ Leader of Delegation
• Air Cdre E. K. Jekada (rtd), mni- Directing Staff
• CDRE (NN) MS GARBA, mni- Directing Staff
• Mr. Agboola Oshodi-Glover- Commissioner of Police
• Mr. Yahuza Abdullahi- (Head of Chancery) Ambassador Nigeria High Commission

 Each member of the delegation is holding top position in the Nigerian Government.

The delegation has been assigned the task of visiting reputed Universities / Group of Institutions in different parts of India and at the end of their visit, submitting report on the status of higher education in India. Each member of the delegation will be submitting a report directly to the Hon’ble President of Nigeria and also a joint report on their observations. The Government of Nigeria has set up six high power committees to visit different countries – India, China, Brazil, Switzerland etc.

The delegation of sixteen eminent personalities of Nigeria was extended a hearty welcome by Mr. Sachin Gupta, Chairman of Sanskriti Group. They were greeted in the traditional way by garlanding each dignitary and applying tilak on the forehead of the guests. Each member introduced himself / herself and the head of the delegation explained the basic purpose of the visit.

They went around different labs, Library, Computer lab etc. and took keen interest in knowing about the infrastructure provided to the students.

Employment of the passing out students was one of the areas of concern for the delegation and Mr. Sachin Gupta explained about the steps taken by Sanskriti Group to address the issue of employability by adopting various means – personality development, skill development, industry – institute interface etc.

The team was highly pleased and impressed by the infrastructural facility provided by the Sanskriti Group.

Regarding placement, Prof. P.C. Chhabra, Executive Director of Sanskriti Group of Institutions, explained that the students of the Sanskriti Group are being groomed properly on regular basis so that by the time they pass out they are ready to effectively contribute to the industry.

As far as research and development is concerned, the delegation was informed about the assistance and encouragement by the Government for conducting research and the provision for providing necessary fund for pursuing the same.

The delegates were interested to know about the extent of control that the Government exercises over the institute. Mr. Sachin Gupta explained that for uniformity of coverage of the syllabus in different colleges affiliated to the State Government University, it has laid down the rules to be followed in terms of conducting classes, holding examinations, following the instructions of industrial visits, attendance etc. & the Govt. / University does not interfere in routine operations.

When the delegates asked about financing by the Government, Mr. Sachin Gupta explained that Sanskriti Group is a self financed institution and it arranges funds on its own.

Some of the delegates raised the question regarding bank loan, Mr. Sachin Gupta explained that public sector banks extend financial assistance to the students based on the application, eligibility, ability to return the loan etc. Mr. Gupta also explained that the students get assistance from social welfare organizations based on their needs and eligibility.

On the issue of unemployment, Mr. Sachin Gupta explained that India is a developing country and certainly it has to tackle the issue of unemployment and under employment. Sanskriti Group has taken upon itself the responsibility of enhancing the skill of the students in their respective fields and imparting knowledge that will increase their intrinsic value and solve the problem of unemployment / underemployment.

Each member of the delegation thanked the Sanskriti Group for providing an insight into the system of higher education in India and also providing lots of information about the education system being followed in India. The delegation assured the Sanskriti Group that they will be revisiting the campus in the near future as they were highly impressed by the process of value delivery through infrastructure, faculty members and support staff. Prof. Chhabra also explained that the Group has international collaborations for exchange of faculty members and the students with –

(ii) University of Cambridge, Cambridge, England

(iii) London School of Business & Finance

(iv) Help University, Malaysia

On behalf of Sanskriti Group, Mr. Sachin Gupta extended invitation to the students of Nigeria to pursue different courses offered by Sanskriti Group.

Mementos were presented by the Chairman Mr. Sachin Gupta to each member of the delegation as a token of remembrance. The Nigerian delegation also presented a memento to Mr. Sachin Gupta on behalf of the Government of Nigeria. The visit ended with the photo session and vote of thanks proposed by Prof. P. C. Chhabra.
