According to the Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB) and Indian Council of Research of International Economic Relations Survey, five among the top 10 career choices are from the media and entertainment sector. There is a huge demand of professionals in the field of animation, advertising, event management, disc jockeying, video jockeying, radio jockeying and journalism to name a few.
Manipal University has launched an MBA in media and entertainment to groom skilled practitioners. "The two year programme will train professionals in the media and entertainment sector to enable them to match global needs, changing media dynamics and entertainment industry paradigms," says Padma Srinivasan, director, Academics, Media and Entertainment Programs, Manipal University. Applications will be accepted till the last week of January and the course will enroll 25 students.
