How to prepare your portfolio for the Bank Job interview?

Personal interview is the last phase in the entire recruitment process for banking aspirants. After getting through written tests the candidates go through personal interview round, conducted by the competent authority to test their overall skills and presence of mind. Almost one third of the candidates appearing for the personal interview round get through to finally get selected for the various banking posts. Hence it becomes vital to create a perfect impression at the time of bank job interview. The candidates must keep the etiquettes and mannerism in mind for the interview and ensure that they present themselves properly in front of the interview board or panel. The portfolio of the candidates in any interview is the gateway of your capabilities in front of the panel, which is there to judge your ability. This panel or board goes through the provided information in your portfolio and your interview takes shape depending on your honesty and professionalism in putting the same to them. There are few tips on preparing the proper portfolio for banking jobs:

    • Put proper information with accuracy: The job portfolio given by you to the concerned authority should include all the educational and other achievements is a properly described manner, so that the onlooker gets a clear picture within a short span of time. The information regarding your qualification should be accurate and must be highlighted to attract attention of the employer towards them. It is thus very important to structure the portfolio in a proper manner putting the most information and relevant information on top.
    • Keep the portfolio neat and tidy: The candidates must keep it mind that the portfolio they present in front of the panel or board is the first and foremost impression in the heads of the people sitting behind the desk. You must keep the portfolio neat without commencing any mistake or cluttering with unnecessary text material. The candidates should work out to make the portfolio look interesting and easy to go through document, so that the panel or board can precede the interview after looking at it.
    • Avoid giving any superfluous data: The candidates should remain true to their abilities and should not mention any extra ability or skill in the portfolio, which they can’t pull off. They should give information regarding the areas that they are comfortable in as the board/panel could go one step further and ask questions from a particular field which you have mentioned in your portfolio, but has no knowledge about. This creates an overall negative impression of your candidature and leads to disqualification.
    • Mention specific qualification related to the field you possess: It is important to highlight your qualification and experiences into your portfolio. Moreover if you have undergone any courses or have worked somewhere that can help you with the recruitment in the bank jobs that you have applied for, then you must put them into a considerable position in your portfolio from where it could get seen easily. Any qualification in the field of commerce, accounting, finance and such related fields should be mentioned by the candidates in their portfolio, when they apply for bank jobs. Knowledge about computer, typing ability and other such information should also be put into the portfolio.
    • Keep it short and crisp: While you must put all the necessary educational qualification, experience and extracurricular activities in your portfolio, you must also keep in mind that the portfolio must be short, crisp and concise. It should not be spread through pages where vital information gets missed by the employer. It should contain all the information in bullet format with objective and personal information mentioned at their proper places.
