Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Examination Calendar for 2015. The Notification for the Civil Services will be issued on 16 May 2015 and the IAS Prelims Exam 2015 will be conducted on 23 August 2015. The candidates should keep in mind the Plan of Examination so that they can plan in advance and execute their strategy in time.
The IAS Prelims 2015 consists of General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II. Each paper carries 200 marks.
The General Studies Paper I consist of 100 questions and each question carries 2 marks. The time limit for the General Studies Paper I is two hours. The candidates should see the IAS Prelims Previous Year Question Paper so that they can anticipate the length, breadth and the scope of the General Studies Paper I.
The candidates should take a cue from the previous year Question paper so that the candidates can systematically plan their preparation and start their preparation in a right direction. The IAS toppers Strategy is worth emulating to start the preparation for the IAS Prelims Exam.

General Studies Paper II Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) contains 80 questions. Each question carries 2.5 marks. The time allotted for this paper is also two hours. The time counts for each and every question and hence the candidates have to improve their reading and understanding skill to attend the full paper. The candidates should try to solve the previous year question papers in a time bound manner so that they get a real feel of the question paper.
