Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India, is engaged in application of Space Science and Space Technology for the development of society at large and for serving the nation by achieving self-reliance by indigenously developing capability to design and develop Space Transportation Systems and Satellites.
ISRO through its Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) issued notification for recruitment to 11 posts of Scientist / Engineer 'SC' in Civil, Electrical and Air Conditioning & Refrigeration with Civil Engineering Programme Office (CEPO) at ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore and at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad. Interested eligible candidates can apply online till 14 March 2013.
The Civil Engineering Programme Office (CEPO) at ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore and Construction and Maintenance Division (CMDs) located at various ISRO Centres/Units are responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of all ground based structures buildings and associated utilities to cater to the Space Programme.
Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, is an autonomous institution under DOS.

Educational Qualifications: BE / B.Tech / BSc (Engg) / Grad IETE/ AMIE in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Candidates slated to complete their B.E / B.Tech course in the academic year 2012-13 are eligible to apply provided the degree is awarded latest by 31 August 2013.
Pay Scale: Pay band of Rs.15600-39100 with grade pay of Rs.5400. Gross emoluments will at approximately Rs.36120 p.m.
In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance [TA] at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively.
Application Fee: Non-refundable Application fee of Rs.100 has to be remitted through a fee payment challan available online, after online registration of application, in the State Bank of India Receipt Account No. 32034064593, till 15 March 2013.
After remittance of the application fee, candidates should collect two parts of the challan -- (ISRO copy & Candidates’ copy) and send one part (ISRO copy) to ISRO Headquarters along with application and retain the other copy for future reference.
Female, SC / ST, Ex-SM and PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be shortlisted for written test, based on their academic record and bio-data.
The written test will be conducted on 5 May 2013 (Sunday) at ten venues -- Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram.
Call letters for written test to the short-listed candidates will be sent by e-mail during second / third week of April 2013.
Answer Keys for written test will be published on the ISRO Website within three working days of the Test, i.e. on 8 May 2013. Candidates may raise objection, if any, within 10 days of publishing the answer keys (i.e. till 18 May 2013)
Based on the candidates’ performance in the Written Test, candidates will be short-listed for interview. Schedule and venue of the Interview will be notified separately to the shortlisted candidates only.
Candidates called for Interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in their applications submitted on-line, at the time of interview.
Those appointed will be liable to be posted in any of the Centres / Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation / Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required.
Travel Allowance: Candidates attending Interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by shortest route from the address indicated in the online application form to the place of interview.
No TA will be paid for attending the Written Test.
How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates can apply online through the website till 14 March 2013. On successful registration of on-line application, an on-line Registration Number will be generated by the system along with the personalized registration confirmation form. Candidates should take two print outs of this form and send one printout by post along with ISRO copy of fee Challan, and copies of required certificates / documents to ‘Sr. Administrative Officer (ICRB), ISRO Headquarters, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore-560094’ so as to reach there within 7 days of filling of the application and in any case not later than 22 March 2013.
On the envelope, candidates should super scribe “ICRB-Recruitment of Scientist / Engineer ‘SC’ (CEPO).
Candidates should retain the second print out of registration conformation form for future reference.
