Jagran Josh: What was your rank in JEE Advanced-2014? In which branch and institution you are currently studying
Siddhartha: I secured 400th rank in JEE Advanced-2014 and currently studying in Electrical branch of IIT – Kanpur.
Jagran Josh: What are your views on current paper pattern of JEE MAIN & Advanced-2014?
Siddhartha: Pattern is quite competitive and it is the ideal pattern to handle such a large no of students.
Jagran Josh: What was your preparation strategy for Physics and which books did you refer for this subject?
Siddhartha: Tried to clear concepts. Reference books: H.C. Verma & I. E. Irodov.
Jagran Josh: What was your preparation strategy for Chemistry and which books did you refer for this subject?
Siddhartha: Reference books for Physical Chemistry: N. Awasthi; Organic Chemistry: NCERT, Solomons & fryhle; Inorganic Chemistry: J. D. LEE.
Jagran Josh: What was your preparation strategy for Mathematics and which books did you refer for this subject?
Siddhartha: Reference Books: Class Notes.
Jagran Josh: Is coaching is necessary to crack JEE Advanced exam?
Siddhartha: Coaching is not absolutely necessary but it provides a student exam oriented study.
Jagran Josh: Did you attend any 'mock tests'? Do you think they're necessary for the preparation of JEE MAINS & Advanced?
Siddhartha: Mock tests are very necessary as these tests help a student in understanding the paper format and in evolving the new techniques to solve paper.
Jagran Josh: What was your strategy in answering the questions in JEE MAIN?
Siddhartha: Focus on the time.
Jagran Josh: Did you follow any particular strategy in answering the questions in JEE Advanced-2014?
Siddhartha: In part -1, I solve integer type first and then multiple choices correct. In part-2, I solve comprehensive type questions first then single option correct type and lastly match the column type.
Jagran Josh: Is there any specific observation or tips you want to give about JEE MAINS & JEE Advanced?
Siddhartha: For JEE MAIN, no coaching is required but for JEE Advanced clarity in concepts and ample revision is must.
