JEE Main-2015: Expected cutoff

Offline (pen & paper based) exam of JEE Main-2015 has been concluded, on April 04th, 2015 while the online examination is due on April 10th and 11th, 2015. It is the first stage of the entrance exam conducted for the admission to IITs, the second and the last stage is JEE Advanced. It is very important for a candidate to qualify the JEE Main exam to write JEE Advanced paper. Moreover not only qualifying JEE Main will help a candidate in appearing the JEE Advanced. Candidate has to score the good marks for it as only 1.5 lakh toppers of JEE Main will be allowed to write the JEE Advanced exam. To determine the qualified candidates, cutoff will be released by the CBSE, on the official website. However, JEE Advanced 2015 Expected Cutoff has already been released which candidates may check below. Top candidates of JEE Main will also have to satisfy JEE Advanced-2015 criterion, as below:

  1. Candidates should have appeared for class XII/ equivalent in 2014/15, and should have secured a position in top 20 percentiles.
  2. Candidates should not be born on or after 1 October 1990.
  3. Candidates can take the exam only twice and that too, consecutively.
  4. Candidates should not have taken admission, previously, in any IITs or ISM.

Expected Cutoff:
Cutoff is the minimum marks required to qualify the exam. In case of JEE Advanced cutoff is the minimum marks required in JEE Main, to be eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced exam. Every year, a new cutoff is calculated after the thorough consideration of various factors like number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, previous year cutoff, number of seats etc. So far, no date has been announced by the CBSE for the release of the cutoff and it is expected to be released along with the scores. As per the notification the score will be released on 27 April 2015 and the All India Rank is due on 7 July 2015.
