JEE Main 2017 registration process has started from December 1. The last date to apply online is 2nd January 2017. Those who are interested can apply online through its official website

CBSE will conduct the JEE Main 2017 in two modes-Online and Offline. This year, the board has introduced some significant changes in the exam format and application process which have been highlighted in the JEE Main 2017 bulletin. For your convenience, we have listed the key changes in the JEE Main 2017 registration process and exam pattern below along with important dates.

Step 1: Go to the official website of JEE Main 2017 i.e.

Step 2: Click on ‘Apply for JEE Main 2017’ at the bottom of the page

Step 3: Fill the JEE Main 2017 application form

Step 4: Upload your recent scanned photograph and signature

Step5: Pay the required Examination fee

The JEE main exam is held to give admission to various engineering courses in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), across the country. The States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland, Odisha & some other institutions have also joined JEE (Main) system this year.

Two changes have also been notified in the JEE pattern for 2017:

  1. No weightage will be given to 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination.
  2. Those candidates who wish to get admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs should secure at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
  3. The JEE Main 2017 bulletin also mentioned that nearly 20000 additional students will be selected for JEE Advanced 2017. This means that a total of 2,20,000 engineering aspirants will clear the JEE Main 2017 exam and be shortlisted for the JEE Advanced 2017

Important notice regarding filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017

The candidates will be required to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender in the JEE Main 2017 application form which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data. These details should match with their school records. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the JEE Main 2017 online form. Therefore, it is advised that candidate should ensure the correctness of their AADHAAR card details. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.
