Easiest: Chemistry was considered as the easiest among all the three subjects of previous year JEE Main question paper. All the three parts physical, organic & inorganic were very easy. In Chemistry, none of the questions was tricky or tough and there was not any ambiguity in the questions. all questions of chemistry section were easy and almost direct. Most of the questions in chemistry were from NCERT textbooks.
More focus on class 12: In chemistry section of JEE Main more importance was given class 12th. There were 13 questions from Class 11 Syllabus and 17 from Class 12 syllabus in the Chemistry section of JEE Main-2014. It was also observed that some of the questions were based on the previous year questions of chemistry which also increases the importance of previous year question paper as a must read study material.
Important topics: Physical Chemistry: From the analysis of previous year JEE Main question paper, physical chemistry emerged out as the most important section. As per the analysis, it can be concluded that round 40% questions (total 12 questions) were from Physical Chemistry. In JEE Main-2013, around 50% questions were from physical chemistry.
