Jan 29, 2015 16:20 IST

Analysis of a question paper helps a candidate in understanding the following things:

    • Importance of chapters.
    • Type of questions asked.
    • Trend of the papers.

Following post analyses the Physics section of previous year JEE Main question paper. With the help of the analysis candidates can get the rough idea of JEE Main question paper. Along with this candidates can also get the idea of important topics for the physics section of JEE Main which will lead to a better preparation of the exam. Following are the important features of physics section of JEE Main-2014.

Toughest: Physics section of JEE Main-2014 can be considered as the most difficult among all the sections. Most of the questions in this section were  above averagae level and very ambiguous. 3 or 4 questions in the section were very tedious and require lengthy calculations. Moreover, more than one concept was required in many questions to solve them.

Equal weightage to 10th & 12th: The question in physics section of JEE Main-2014 require strong fundamentals. Equal weightage was given to the board syllabus of class 11th & class 12th. Same number of questions was asked from the syllabus of both the classes. Questions composition was almost uniform from Class 11 and Class 12.

Important topics: Mechanic & Electronics: From analysis it is very obvious that in the previous two years, the major focus was on Electro Dynamics & Dynamics. In both the years more than 50% questions were from these two topics. Modern physics was also a very important topic as good number of questions was asked from this topic as well.
