Youth who have passed their Class 12 examinations would now be eligible for training in a defence university that is being planned by the Jharkhand Government. The state assembly was informed today that a defence university is in planning by the government.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das said in the assembly that the proposed defence university would soon get opened in Jharkhand and those students who have passed their class 12 examinations would be trained for three or five years in it. This training would make them fit for future recruitments in Indian Air Force, Indian Army or Police services.
Speaker Dinesh Oraon asked the government if it could device a method of setting up technical universities as well, in tandem with that of the universities in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. In reply to the question of the speaker, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy said, rules are being prepared to implement the Jharkhand Technical Institute Act, 2011, after which possibilities of technical universities in Jharkhand could become brighter.
In reply to the BJP MLA Radhakrishna Kishore’s query, Roy said that the Technical institutes would be set up in Palamau and Chhotanagpur divisions.
