KIIT Deemed to be University has earned a rare distinction of being featured in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019. Announced on September 26, 2018, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019 is one of the most prestigious ranking frameworks in the industry.
What makes this achievement even more special is the fact that KIIT has earned this unique feat within just two decades (1997) of its inception as a premier institution for professional education. The educational institute was also accorded a university status just 14 years ago in 2004. Despite being a young university, KIIT has secured 1001+ position in this coveted and much-awaited ranking framework. The varsity is the only self-financing University in Eastern India to get ranked in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, which also features other premier educational institutes like IITs and NITs in Odisha. Only a few other well-known and old deemed universities from South India have managed to secure a rank in this framework. However, KIIT has got the same success with a similar position despite being a young educational institution.
Commenting upon this phenomenal achievement, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said, “This achievement has been possible due to the blessings of the Almighty coupled with the hard work and relentless efforts of the staff and students.”Talking about the history of the institution, he said, KIIT was started in a rented house with just Rs. 5000 and now, it has a global recognition and is placed among the top 1001+ universities of the world. “I congratulate all the staff, student and well-wishers and hope they would keep up the good work as sky is the limit”, he stated. Prof. Samanta also hoped that KIIT would be able to significantly better its performance in the coming years. He also thanked the Central and State Government for their continued support in the journey of KIIT.
