IBPS SO preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on 30th and 31st December 2017. There will be 150 questions in the examination carrying 125 marks. The examination is divided into three sections mentioned below. It is important to excel in all three subjects to crack the prelims examination.

Note: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

- Keep revising General Awareness: Revise general awareness through your notes. Candidates should focus on update their knowledge of general awareness with the revision of what they have learnt rather than to read new topics. Candidates can divide their general awareness section into three parts i.e. Current Affairs, Static GK and Banking and Economy. Collect all your note and draw a rapid plan to revise.
- Analyze Mock Test: Mock test are always helpful for your preparation. In this last week, candidates can take at least two mock tests on a daily basis. Analyze your result and boost your preparation with mock tests.
- Prepare strategy to attempt different sections: There is no sectional timing in prelims examination. Candidates are free to solve the paper as per their convenience. But is it important for the candidates to clear the sectional cut off. So candidates are advised to prepare a strategy to attempt all the three section of the examination. Start a section always with a fresh mind.

- Move on: Don’t waste your time by sticking to just one question. If you are not getting the right answer, switch to the next question immediately.
- Do not try to rush to the answer: Sometimes options may also help you to find out the correct answer. So check all the options before marking your answer. This trick will immensely help you to answer reading comprehension question more quickly.
- Don’t pick a new topic to read: Candidates are advised not to start any new topic to cover. Candidates should focus on revision. Practice your strong topics and don’t waste your energy to read any new topic.
- Take enough rest and eat well before the test: If you want to give your best in the exam, take proper rest and eat well before the examination. You need to have energy and presence of mind while solving the paper. So candidates are advised to sleep well before the examination.
- Arrive at the examination centre early: Candidates should know the location of their examination centre. Candidates may visit the venue one day before the Examination to confirm the location. Avoid being late and failing to attend the examination.

- Enter the examination hall with a Calm mind: Just calm your anxious mind before entering the examination hall. Anxiety can paralyze your capacity to perform well in the exam. All of your hard work will pay off one day, stick with what you are doing no matter hard it gets.”
- Do not forget to carry your Identity Proofs: Bring all necessary documents (mention in the call letter) in the examination hall. The call letter should be brought with you to the examination venue along with your recent passport size photograph duly pasted on it. Bring this call letter with your photograph affixed thereon, currently valid Photo identity proof in original and a photocopy of the same ID proof which you bring in original.
