Madhya Pradesh to Appoint around 3000 Area Education Officers to Monitor State Schools

Appointment of nearly 3,000 Area Education Officers (AEOs) has been proposed during the 100-day action plan of the school education department of Madhya Pradesh. The purpose behind this is to monitor schools performances and to ensure regular attendance of teachers, informed the school education minister Paras Chandra Jain while reviewing departmental action plan in Bhopal on 7 January.

 As decided, One AEO will be appointed to monitor a batch of 30 to 40 schools under him. In addition, Assistant directors are also to be appointed as Block Education Officers (BEOs) who will also monitor the schools and teachers. For BEOs 450 posts have been created and among these 225 posts are to be recruited through direct recruitment and 225 by means of promotions.

One deputy director and two assistant director rank officers will hold the office at district level under the action plan, by unifying offices of district education officer (DEO) and district project coordinator (DPC), aimed at improving coordination in the districts, as informed by Jain.

In state schools, to improve teacher’s methodology and quality of teaching the subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English, which will be module-based, TISS Mumbai and NEUPA are going to train the teachers.

The scholarships offered for classes I to XII under Samagra Social Scheme will now be distributed through online mode.
