National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, Secunderabad an autonomous body under Department of Disability Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India issued notification inviting applications for filling up 6 different posts on direct recruitment basis. 1. Assistant Professor in Special Education: One post (All India basis)

Age Limit: 45 yrs
Essential Qualifications: Master’s in Social Sciences with M.Ed. in Special Education (MR)/ M.Ed with DSE (MR) or equivalent qualifications and Ph.D with dissertation topic in the field of education of children with mental retardation and  five years experience in teaching professionals or personnel /research in the field of Special Education (MR).

2. Assistant Professor in Paediatrics: One post (All India basis)

Pay Scale: PB-3: Rs. 15600 - 39100 + Rs. 6600 (G.P)
Age Limit: 45 yrs
Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree in Medical eg. MD in Paediatrics or equivalent qualification with four year teaching and/or research experience in the subject specialty after post graduate qualification.

3. Assistant Administrative Officer: One post (All India basis)

Age Limit: 35 yrs
Essential Qualifications: Graduate with five years experience in establishment in supervisory capacity.

4. Junior Special Education Teacher: One post (For candidates from Andhra Pradesh Region only)

Age Limit: 30 yrs
Essential Qualifications: Graduate with Diploma in Special Education (MR) OR equivalent with 2 years work experience with children with mental retardation OR B.Ed. in Special Education (MR) OR BRS (MR) with specialization in  Special Education. RCI Registration as personnel/ professional in Special Education (MR).

5. LDC / Typist: One post (For candidates from Andhra Pradesh Region only)

Pay Scale: PB-1: Rs.5200-20200 + Rs.1900 (G.P)
Age Limit: 18-28 yrs
Essential Qualifications: SSLC or equivalent examination with Typewriting lower (30 wpm) in English;

Vacancies with NIMH MSEC, New Delhi: 1 post
6. Craft Instructor: One post (All India basis)
Post Code: 05
Pay Scale: PB-2: Rs.9300-34800 + Rs.4200 (G.P)
Age Limit: Below 30 yrs
Essential qualifications: Matriculation or equivalent with Diploma/Certificate in two trades and 3 years experience as a craft teacher in a Government or Non-Government institution.

NOTE: Posts at Sl.No.4 & 5 are to be filled up from the candidates belonging to the State of Andhra Pradesh only.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview/written test.
Only short listed candidates will be called for written test / Interview .

Application fees: Non-refundable application fee of Rs. 200 is to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank, in favour of ‘Director, NIMH’.

SC/ST/PH category candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
