The National Testing Agency (NTA) has updated the NEET 2025 exam pattern. The optional questions have been removed, bringing down the total number of questions from 200 to 180. The duration of the exam has therefore been reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes, or three hours. The exam mode, subject-wise compulsory questions, and marking scheme, however, remain the same. NTA has now confirmed that the exam pattern would go back to the pre-COVID pattern and eliminate Section B and the respective optional questions and additional time. This implies candidates will now write 180 compulsory questions (45 each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 in Biology) in the 180-minute time duration.
