National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been constituted to investigate and control the activities that increase the terrorism in the country. Time wise, NIA was constituted after severe terrorist attack in Mumbai during 2008 to ensure the National Integrity as a permanent law enforcement body. Headquarted at New Delhi, NIA is recruits candidates on various posts directly, and Sub-Inspector is one of them.

Recruitment on Sub-Inspectors in National Investigation Agency has been done through the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam being conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) every year. Lacs of candidates apply for this exam and many posts, including SI in NIA, are being filled up through this exam.

Earlier, candidates for SI in NIA were recruited from those who have completed at least two years of service at national or state level investigative agencies, like SPG, CBI or IB.

But through SSC CGL Exam being conducted every year, any eligible candidate can apply for these posts directly and become after qualifying the selection process.

The Sub-Inspectors in NIA after selection can be posted anywhere across the country and transferred in any part of the country.

Salary Structure of Sub-Inspector Job at National Investigation Agency

On the post of Sub-Inspector Job at National Investigation Agency a good salary is given. The candidates selected as SI in NIA are given salary as per the Pay Matrix Level – 6 of the Seventh Pay Commission or Pay Band-2 of the Sixth Pay Commission. As a total sum, candidates posted in X category cities get Rs.43166/- per month initially. While in Y categories cities they get Rs.39492/- per month and Rs.37664/- in Z category cities. Also, the candidates get the salary of 13 months during a year and get many allowances.
