National Institute of Information Technology( NIIT)has announced its dates of Graduate Employability Test (GET) 2014, which gets conducted every year to help graduates in choosing new age career options. The GET 2014 would be conducted by NIIT on a national scale on 16 November 2014.
The Graduate Employability Test helps the students to judge their own skills and capability, so that they can choose from the vast array of career opportunities that they acquire as options. In the emerging job market there are almost 800 new age career options that are available and this examination helps them in building confidence to take up for these career options by choosing a programme in which they would invest their futures. The students who would undergo the test could get upto 35 percent scholarships based completely on the merits. Those who are sitting for the tests would be provided a graduate employability score card and would be eligible for individual one to one career counseling from various industry experts.
According to reports submitted by Aspiring Minds Assessment Private Limited on National Employability Report, the statistics of India presently are quite shocking as not even one out of four engineering graduates are employable at this moment. The survey which got conducted over 1.2 lakh candidates across many states provided these figures which are quite alarming. Most of the graduates are lacking basic programming and algorithm skills, cognitive skills, domain skills, English speaking and comprehension skills and analytical and quantitative skills and are turning out to be unemployable at the long go. Hence the Test would help students undergo the present day requirement of the job market and would help prepare them for the future endeavors.
