    This year Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has come up with total 251 vacancies for the posts of Principal, Assistant Commissioner (Administration), PGTs, Assistant and Computer Operator. Candidates should start applying for these posts from 15th January, 2019 till 14th February, 2019 ensuring that they possess/fulfill all eligibility conditions prescribed in the official notification released by NVS.

    NVS PGT 2019 Written Exam will be held tentatively in the last week of March 2019. Before applying for the NVS PGT post, candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfill all the eligibility norms including age, upper age limit and educational qualification(s). So, let’s look at the Eligibility Criteria for the Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) under the NVS 2019 Recruitment drive:

    AGE LIMIT RELAXATION

    The relaxation in upper age limit/maximum upper age for the following categories/ communities is given in the table below subject to submission of requisite certificates:

    Note:

    • All the concessions mentioned above will be concurrent, i.e., if a person is eligible for more than one concession, only one of the concessions of the highest permissible limit, will be granted subject to maximum of age prescribed to enter in Government service i.e. 55 years of age.
    • The Cut-Off date for determining various eligibility criteria (Educational Qualifications, age limit etc.) will be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India. Before applying, applicants must satisfy about their eligibility as on closing date of receipt of application.
    • Only those OBC categories which are applicable for appointment under Central Government will be considered.

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

    a) Two Year Integrated Post Graduate Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

    Master's Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the following subjects.

    Post Graduate Degree in any subject from a

    recognized University/ Institute. OR

    'B' level from DOEACC/NIELT and Post Graduate

    Degree in any subject. OR

    'C' level from DOEACC/NIELT Ministry of Information

    and Communication Technology and Graduation.

    2. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi/English.

    Note:

    Within PGT category, a candidate shall apply only in one subject.

    DESIRABLE EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

    (b) B.Ed. Degree.

    Note: For subsequent promotion the incumbent will have to acquire B.Ed. degree.

    (c) Proficiency in Teaching in Hindi and English medium.

    DESIRABLE OTHER QUALIFICATIONS (WORK EXPERIENCE)

    (a) Experience as TGT in recognized institution in concerned subject.

    (b) Experience of working in a residential school.

    (c) Knowledge of Computer application.

    NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP

    • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

    NVS will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidates have qualified for interview. However, NVS may take up the verification of eligibility of the candidate at any point of time prior to or after the completion of the selection process. Even if Admit Card is issued to a candidate due to lack of information in the application form or otherwise and if it is found at any stage (including the date of joining & thereafter) that the candidate is not eligible, then his / her candidature shall be summarily rejected. So, the candidates are advised to look thoroughly at the above mentioned eligibility criteria, before applying for NVS PGT 2019 Exam.
