Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have cleared MSc (Ag.) in Horticulture (or similar disciplines subject to endorsement by the concerned PhD Committee).
Note: Candidates who have already qualified in UGC-CSIR (JRF) NET/GATE/SLET/ Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examination or already have an MPhil degree would be exempted from the RET examination. Such candidates will be allowed to directly submit a statement of purpose or research in brief and appear in the interview.
Selection Process
The candidates will be selected on the basis of Research Eligibility Test (RET) and interview by the university. The written test will be of 50 marks & will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and will have questions from MSc (Ag.) in Horticulture. The written exam will be conducted in Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Science at Calcutta University.
The interview will be conducted for candidates who are successful in Written Test along with those candidates who have already cleared eligibility tests like NET, GATE, SLET etc.
Application Fee and Mode of Payment
The application fee of Rs 100 in cash should only be submitted in the form of Calcutta University (CU) Cash Challan that can be obtained and submitted at the cash counter at College Street Campus/Law College Campus, Calcutta University.
How to Apply
Candidates are required to submit duly filled in application form along with a challan, against the payment, to be endorsed by the Head of Department (HOD). The filled in form along with a photocopy of the challan of RET examination fee deposited by the candidate is to be submitted to the Head of Department, Department of Agriculture, Institute of Agricultural Science, 51/2 Hazra Road, Kolkata 700 019.
