Specialist Officer is one of the most significant and highly required employee in a bank. They are there to ensure the working and progress of bank in smooth way possible. Specialist officers in banks are appointed for various specialized roles for different departments according to their educational, technical and functionality.

Some of the Specialist Officer positions in Banks are:

Role of Information Technology Officer

The role of Information Technology Officer is basically to save and secure the bank from all types of cyber crime that happen in today’s time. His/ Her solo work is to look after the Bank Network Security and Anti Virus update. Core banking system is supported by an IT officer and he or she is responsible for management and processing for several sub-departments of this department - data center, ATM section, project office, security section and MIS and application system.

Role of Law Officer

The main work of a Law Officer is to take a dig into all the legal matters of the bank. To give legal considerations on various issues, the report related to reports and correspondence, notice, etc., Law Officer ensures according to different departments.

Role of HR/Personnel Officer

HR / Personnel Officer is appointed for the appointment, training and supervision of staff and other matters in the bank. The responsibility of the HR / Personal Officer is to make all employees work more and more with dedication. It is also the responsibility of the HR / Personal Officer to create policies related to the employment in the bank.

Role of Marketing Officer

Main role of Marketing Officer is to co-ordinate with various advertisement agencies to draft different forms of communication. To make maximum sales to the Bank's products and solutions and to create policies to pursue, it is the responsibility of all the marketing officers. The marketing officer uses a lot of marketing tools and various means of communication to reach out to people in larger base.

Role of Agricultural Field Officer

Agricultural Field Officer is generally appointed in branches of banks placed in rural areas. Placed in  rural areas, the role of Agricultural Field Officer is to reach out to rural customers with various schemes, products or services that bank provides. Meeting and generating leads with customers is another key responsibility that AFO holds.

Role of Official language officer/ Rajbhasha Adhikari

The most important work of Official language officer/ Rajbhasha Adhikari is to translate all the official documents to Hindi or Rajbhasha language from any other language for official use.

Recruitment process of specialist officers in banks

Many banking institutions organizes All India Recruitment Examination for recruitment of Specialist Officers in various fields. IBPS, SBI are the main organizations to conduct the exam. To join this examination it is necessary that the candidates hold academic / technical qualifications for that mode, in which they want to become Specialist Officers.
