President Pranab Mukharjee is to inaugurate Campus of the Central University in Haryana on March 1, which is situated at Mahendergarh, a district in Haryana.
Formally the new campus will be launched by the president as Chief Guest on March 1, which will mark as the occasion of the university's first convocation, told the officials on 17 February.
During the event, the President shall also award gold medals and degrees to the University graduates, informed Vice-Chancellor Major General Ranjit Singh through a statement.
Pranav Mukherjee will also do opening ceremony of an exhibition on innovation.
Besides, President other dignitaries such as Governor of Haryana Jagannath Pahadia, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and other eminent political personalities will also attend the University inaugural event, Singh added.
Central University of Haryana (CUH) was formed under the Central Universities Act, 2009. That falls under those 15 Central Universities which were established by the Ministry of Union Human Resource and Development under the 11th Five Year Plan (2007-12). The campus is spread over 488 acres of Land at Jant-Pali Village in Mahendergarh, which is a district in state Haryana. CUH is a fully funded varsity by the University Grants commission.
