Which section plays the most important part in Civil Services Exams?

Question: What is the break-up of sections and the weight of each section in the IAS exams?

Answer: IAS prelim exams from the year 2011 onwards, will have two objective type papers, each carrying 200 marks. For IAS Mains, there will two papers for General Studies (GS) carrying a total of 600 marks while there will be two optionals each having two papers and carrying 1200 marks in total. There will be an essay paper also having the weight of 200 marks.
