The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi is all set to hold the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in November 2012.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure of the examination first ensures the student should have the mentioned education qualifications after which the student needs to apply online

Apart from the basic eligibility criteria, which would ensure the student to take the examination, candidates should note that there is an application fee that is levied The application fee (for Paper I OR Paper II) to be paid by Reserved Category candidate is Rs 250, and for General and OBC candidate is Rs 500. Candidates applying for both the Papers (I and II) are required to pay a fee of Rs 800 (General Category candidates) and Rs 400 for Reserved Category candidate.

The fee needs to be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi. Write your registration number, name, address, and mobile/ telephone number on the back of the Demand Draft.

After the student finishes off till this part, he/she needs to know the ‘How to Apply’ section, which is stated beneath

The CTET examination will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ’s). There will be no negative marking. There will be 2 papers of CTET.

Scheme of the Examination

Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.

1.Child Development and Pedagogy:30 MCQs:30 Marks

2. Language I:30 MCQs:30 Marks

3.Language II:30 MCQs:30 Marks
    
4.Mathematics:30 MCQs:30 Marks

5. Environmental Studies:30 MCQs:30 Marks
        
Total:150 MCQs:150 Marks

Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

1Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory):30 MCQs:30 Marks

2. Language I (compulsory):30 MCQs:30 Marks
    
3Language II (compulsory):30 MCQs:30 Marks
    
(a)    For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science60 MCQs:60 Marks

(b)   For Social Studies/Social Science teacher: Social Science:60 MCQs:60 Marks

(c)    For any other teacher – either (a) or (b)
    
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
