Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invites applications from interested and eligible departmental candidates for the Grade ‘C' Stenographers Limited Departmental Competitive Examination 2012 for recruitment in various Services/ Cadres of the Government of India.

  • Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service Grade ‘C' (RBSSS)
  • Election Commission of India Stenographers Service Grade ‘C' (ECISS)
  • Central Vigilance Commission Stenographers Service Grade ‘C' (CVCSS)

  • Opening date for sending application: 28 April 2012
  • Closing date for sending application: 25 May 2012 upto 5 pm
  • Closing date for sending application (from remote areas): 1 June 2012

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Grade ‘C' Stenographers Limited Departmental Competitive Examination 2012

Any regularly appointed Grade ‘D' or Grade-III employee of the various Services/ Cadres of the Government of India mentioned above can appear for the examination. The other eligibility conditions include the following.

  • Crucial Date: 1 July 2012 (AFHSS, CSSS, RBSSS); 1 August 2012 (SCIFS, ECISS, CVCSS, CATSS)
  • Age Limit (as on 1 July 2012): Maximum 50 years
  • Stenography Skill Test: Unless exempted from passing the Stenography test, for the
  • purpose of confirmation or continuance in Grade ‘D'/ Grade-III in various cadres

Selection Procedure for SSC Grade ‘C' Stenographers Limited Departmental Competitive Examination 2012

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the Written Examination scheduled to be conducted by the Commission followed by shorthand skill test in Hindi or in English (for those who qualify in the written examination). The final selection will be based on evaluation of record of service of such of the candidates, as may be decided by the commission in their discretion on the basis of performance in Written Examination and Stenography Skill Test carrying a maximum of 100 marks.
