SSC Junior Engineers Examination 2014: Notification

    Staff Selection Commission invited application for Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying And Contract) Examination, 2014. Eligible candidates can send their application in the prescribed format before 28 March 2014.

    • Start Date of Registration: 01 March 2014
    • Close Date of Part-I Registration:: 26 March 2014 Up to 5.00 PM
    • Close Date of Part-II Registration: 28 March 2014 Up to 5.00 PM
    • Close Date for candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad: 04 April 2014
    • Date of Examination: 25 May 2014

    • Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical ) in CPWD and Department of Posts,
    • Junior Engineer(Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) in Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of Ministry of Defence
    • Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage  
    • Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying and Contracts) in MES

    Total number of Posts will be determined in due course.

    Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800/- plus Grade Pay Rs.4200/-

    Eligibility Criteria

    Educational Qualification

    • Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical), CPWD: Diploma in Civil , Electrical or Mechanical
    • Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or equivalent qualification.
    • Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical), Department of Posts: Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government
    • Junior Engineer(Civil)/ Junior Engineer(Electrical and Mechanical) , Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Ministry of Defence: Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Diploma in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent from a recognised University or Institute
    • Junior Engineer (Civil)/ Junior Engineer(Electrical and Mechanical)/ Junior Engineer (QS&C),  MES: Degree in (Civil Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) from a recognised University OR Diploma (Civil Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) from a recognised Institute or University or Board and 02 yrs experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil/ Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works
    • Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical), CWC and Farakka Barrage: Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University or Institution

    Age Limit

    • For Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts: Between 18-27 years
    • For Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in MES: Not exceeding 30 years
    • For Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in MES: Maximum 32 years.
    • For Junior Engineers(Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES: Between 18-27 Years
    • For Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical &
    • Mechanical) in Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of Ministry of Defence: Not exceeding 30 years

    Application Fee: A fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) to be submitted through State Bank of India either in the form of Challan or through SBI net banking. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribes, Physically handicapped and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservations are exempted from payment of fee.

    How to Apply

    The eligible candidates have to submit their online application through SSC website http://ssconline.nic.in and http://ssconline2.gov.in. Read the instructions provided in the notification before selecting options.

    The online application contains two parts

    • Part-I Registration: Up to 5.00 PM on 26 March 2014.
    • Part-II Registration: Up to 5.00 PM on 28 March 2014.

    Selection Process

    Candidates will be shortlisted after evaluating their performance in the written examination and Interview. On the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview, Qualified candidates will appointed to the mentioned Posts.
