The Supreme Court denied to stay the UPPSC main examination 2017, which is scheduled to be held on 18 June 2018 and set aside the Allahabad High Court order asking for a re-evaluation of answer sheets of the preliminary test. The decision has been taken by the supreme court judges UU Lalit and Deepak Gupta, considering the appeal of UPPSC against the high court order. According to the bench “We allow the appeal of the UPPSC and set aside the high court order.
The stay on the UPPSC Main Examination was demanded by the group of students claiming irregularities in the preliminary question papers of the UPPSC. The students alleged that UPPSC has not followed the Allahabad High Court's March 30 order directing for re-evaluation of answer sheets of the preliminary test.
The apex court, on Tuesday, said the sanctity of an examination would be lost if courts through their power of judicial review keep interfering with the decisions taken by authorities conducting competitive tests.
UPPSC prelims exam was conducted for 677 posts in September 2017 The notification for the same was issued on February, 2017.
