Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most important entrance exams for engineering aspirants. There are two phases of JEE i.e., JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
JEE Main 2018 is scheduled to be held on April 8 in offline mode while the online exam will be conducted on April 15 and 16 under the supervision of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
This year Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to conduct JEE Advanced exam through online mode only. Earlier, students have to appear for JEE Advanced exam through offline mode which is also known as OMR based or pen-paper based.
According to most of the students offline mode of examination is better than online mode. In offline mode, students can go through the entire question paper and based on that they can decide how and when to attempt the questions as per their convenience. The only drawback of offline mode is that students can’t change their option as they have to darken the bubble on the OMR sheet using Black Ball Point pen.
After securing the rank among top 224000 students in JEE Main 2018, students can appear for JEE Advanced 2018 via online mode only. Now, it is very important for students to get familiar with the online mode before appearing for the actual exam.

1. Read all the instruction very carefully:
First of all students should read all the instructions that appear on the computer screen at the time of exam. Sometimes students think reading instructions will waste their time. But students have to provide extra time for reading instructions in spite of 3 hours.
2. Don’t waste more time on one question:
Sometimes students waste their so much in solving one question and at the end they didn’t get the correct answer. Therefore, students don’t waste their time and move on next question.

3. Mark the correct option after solving any question:
In a rush of solving more questions sometimes students mark the wrong option after solving the question correctly. Therefore, students should cross check the option marked by them with their solution.
4. Make strategies after reading the complete question paper only:
To view the complete question paper, students can click on the “Question Paper” on the right side at the top. After going through the complete paper, students will get an idea about the difficulty level of all the subjects. Then students can make the strategies to attempt the paper.
5. Practice more and more online test:
It is very important for students to practice more and more online test before appearing for the actual exam. After practicing a sufficient number of online test, students will get familiar with the flow of exam. It will also help them in increasing the speed of attempting questions in the actual examination.
6. Don’t panic in case of computer failure:
Sometimes system may get shutdown due to some technical glitches. In such conditions student don’t panic. The exam will resume from the same point. Therefore, students don’t lose their concentration and try to remain focused.
7. Read the complete question:
Sometimes the question may be lengthy enough which makes it impossible to appear the complete questions on the screen at a time. Therefore, students must read the complete question with the help of the scroll button of mouse before attempting the question.
From 2018 onwards JEE Advanced will be conducted through online mode only.It is very important to get familiar with the pattern of online test to secure good rank in JEE Main (Online mode) and JEE Advanced 2018. Students can apply the above tips in upcoming examination.
