Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s ‘Punjab Shikya Kranti’ has given a new command to Punjab’s public education system. Under this initiative which was launched in 2022, a total of 118 Schools of Eminence have been developed across the state with an investment of ₹231.74 crore. These schools have now become symbols of modern facilities and quality education.
These institutions are provided with intelligent classrooms, science labs, libraries, pools, tennis courts, and special trainers for extra-curricular activities. Free coaching, uniform, shoes, and transport facilities are provided to poor students so that no child is denied access to education.
The success of this program can be seen clearly from the results — 848 students cleared NEET, 265 students cleared JEE Mains and 44 cleared JEE Advanced. Under Chief Minister Mann's School Mentorship Program, various civil officers are mentoring and helping these students.
More than 25 lakh parents attended Parent-Teacher Meetings which were conducted at 19,200 government schools, reflecting increased community participation and involvement in education.
The Schools of Eminence have now become not only temples of learning, it's a historic step towards providing equal opportunity and a promising future for all children in Punjab.
