In the national capital, Delhi, two visually impaired girls have been given 0 marks in one of their subjects in CBSE examination, the results of which were declared few days earlier. Paradoxically, in other subjects, the girls have scored marks between 85 and 95. CBSE stated that they are looking into the matter. The after questions are raised that the board went wrong somewhere that this issue has been cropped up.
On one hand, students and their parents are celebrating as they have qualified CBSE exams with good marks on the other hand it was a huge distress for Prachi & Pragya Mahajan, both of whom are visually impaired when they came to know that they were given 0 marks in one subject.
"This is very shocking & depressing. It isn’t possible, " Prachi exclaimed. The girls stated that the school authorities weren’t helpful at all. The principal of the school addressed girls that they’ve got compartment unless the girls threatened then to go to the media.
The family of the girls claims that they had to run from person to person to get authorities to permit them to write their examination on a computer. Mother of girls said, "The school authorities didn’t help at all and thus, I had to go to the board".
School authorities though discarded these arraigns. "The instant I got to know I wrote to CBSE & asked them to arbitrate," stated the school Principal, Ms. Jyoti Bose. It was distressing to see the mark sheet. The family now not only wants the matter to be sorted but also want a method to be developed so that others like them do not bear the same.
