The National Testing Bureau of University Grant Commission will be conducting National Eligibility Test in 77 subjects at across 78 centres for determining the eligibility for Lectureship and for the award of JRF. For the convenience of students, UGC has issued certain guidelines for the candidates who will be appearing for test on 30 December 2012. A few of those directions are enlisted here:
- The examination hall will be opened 30 minutes prior to the specified time for the examination. Candidates must reach on time as no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 20 minutes of commencement of exam.
- Candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall/room until 11.30 am in the first session and 3.00 pm in the second session of the examination. No candidate shall be allowed to go to toilet during the last 20 minutes of the examination in each session.
- Candidate must not tamper the seal of the Test Booklets before 9.30 am in the first session and 1.30 pm in the second session.
- Examinees must read carefully the instructions given on the Test Booklet & OMR Sheet and check that the Test Booklet &OMR Sheet supplied to them are not defective and if so, can secure another copy from the Invigilator in lieu of the first one. The Test Booklet must be checked with reference to page numbers, serial number of the questions, code number and the subject offered by the candidate.
- Examinees will have to bring their own stationary. The use of calculators & Log Tables is not allowed. Candidates should not bring electronic devices such as Cellular, Mobile, Satellite Phone, Pager etc. in Examination Hall.
- No extra time will be provided to any candidate except Visually Handicapped (VH). 30 minutes’ extra time for Paper –I and II and 45 minutes extra time for paper III shall be provided to VH candidates.
- VH candidates shall also be provided the services of a scribe who would be a graduate in a subject other than that of the candidates. Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates who are unable to write in their own hand-writing can also use these services by making prior request (minimum one week before the date of UGC-NET) in writing to the Co-ordinator of the respective NET Coordinating University/College.
- Candidates will be required to hand over the original OMR Sheet of Paper I & II together and Paper-III to the Invigilator before leaving the examination hall. However, candidates are allowed to carry the used Test Booklets of paper-I, II & III along with carbon less copy of OMR Sheet on conclusion of examination.
- Candidates will be required to produce their Admit Card/ID proof on demand by the Invigilator/Examination/ Superintendent/Observer.
