UGC Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship 2011-12

University Grants Commission (UGC) invites application for the award of fellowships for the year 2011-12 under Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) for SC/ ST candidates. The last date for applying for this fellowship is 30 August 2011

The Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) Scheme for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes is formulated and funded by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The scheme is open to candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe who wish to pursue higher studies such as regular and full time MPhil and PhD degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Engineering & Technology. There are 2000 slots for Scheduled Caste and 667 slots for Scheduled Tribe candidates every year for all the subjects.

University Grants Commission (UGC) invites application from eligible SC/ ST candidates for this fellowship which will cover all Universities/ Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & section 3 of the UGC Act.

Closing date for online submission of application: 30 August 2011

Objective

The scheme has been initiated keeping in view the social background of the candidates for the deprived section of the society and to provide them opportunity to undertake advanced studies and research.

Eligibility Criteria

SC/ST Candidates who have passed the Post Graduate examination in concerned subject and who desire to pursue research without JRF of UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET.

Selection Procedure: The selections will be based on the basis of merit.

Interested eligible candidates should submit applications through online mode. No other mode of applying for fellowship shall be entertained.
