UGC on 5 March 2013 released list of recommended Major/Minor Research Projects in Basic and Applied Science including Engineering & Technology, Medicine, Pharmacy & Agriculture etc. As per the meeting held during 17 January 2012 to 31 January 2013, a total of 1071 projects were selected of which 993 were Major Projects and 78 Minor Projects.
The Research Funding Council of UGC promotes research in Universities and colleges teachers across varied disciplines to promote excellence in research in higher education. The quantum of assistance for a Major research project in Humanities, Social Science, Languages, Literature, Arts, Law and allied disciplines was Rs 12 lakh and for Minor Research Project was Rs 1.50 lakh.
