The U.P Board High School (Class 10 ) Examination 2012 results would be declared today, 8 June 2012, between 1 & 2 pm. With the time pushing in slowly by the hour, the basic question that could possibly be a point of ‘much thought’ for students be–what stream to choose after class 10!’
Before we could run down on the possibilities, lets first understand the basic streams that are available to students after Class 10th. The three basic streams are Science, Commerce and Arts. Students must know that with the student friendly course modules being introduced, Commerce can now be studied without mathematics and also students opting for Science can elect subjects of their choice.
So what is the parameter to choose a stream after Class 10th results? The answer is aptitude and attitude. Many a times, cases come afloat, where the student is forced into electing a steam that is far from his ‘will’ which eventually lands up to nothing but a ‘constructive and planned disaster’.
Schools these days have come out with ‘Aptitude tests’ to evaluate a student’s bent of mind towards a particular stream, it is highly important for a student to go by his/her gut feeling and love for the subject, because students generally tend to stick to their stream for the rest of their lives, and getting into a wrong stream could mean a loss of two years and some mental agony as well.
Generically, Science generally encompasses students with a ‘wizard’ mind, someone who could be good with numerical ability, and inquisitive about technology. Commerce students have to primarily study about the various aspects of economics, business studies etc. Arts students on the other hand are generally a bunch of creative students who get into anything that’s less mechanical and more creative. We must also bust a popular myth- ‘arts is not a soft option’.
Finally, It is important to analyze and judge your aptitude and attitude to finally decide on a stream. Don’t follow the herd, just follow your heart. Jagran Josh wishes all the students a very best for their future endeavors.
