All engineering aspirants want to take admission in best engineering colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, but it is not possible as seats are very less as compare to number of engineering aspirants. Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is a state level engineering entrance examination. To crack UPSEE Examination is easier than cracking JEE Examination.

In this article we bring to you concise chapter notes including important concepts, formulae and some previous year solved questions related to Alternating Current for UPSEE Entrance Examination 2018.

About the chapter notes:

After the detailed analysis of the latest syllabus and the pattern of some previous year papers of UPSEE Examination, our Subject Experts of Physics have prepared these chapter notes.

These notes consist all important topics of chapter Alternating Current like ac voltage applied to a resistor, ac voltage applied to a inductor, ac voltage applied to a capacitor, ac voltage applied to a series LCR circuit etc.

About 1-2 questions are always asked from this chapter in examination.

UPSEE Alternating Current concepts 2

UPSEE Alternating Current concepts 3

Important Questions and Preparation Tips – Electromagnetic Induction

Some previous year solved questions are given below:

Question 1:

For given LR circuit, growth of current as function of time t is shown in graph. Which of the following option represents value of time constant most closely for the circuit?

UPSEE Alternating Current Q1

(a) 0.4 s

(b) 0.7 s

(c) 1 s

(d) 2.4 s

Solution 1:

In one time constant 63% change occurs in the value of current. The 63% of maximum current is 1.26 A. It is obvious from the graph that current 1.26 A corresponds to time which is slightly greater than 0.9 sec.

Hence, the correct option is (c).

Important Questions and Preparation Tips – Magnetism

Question 2:

UPSEE Alternating Current Q2
