West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted every year for absorbing fresher talents in the Undergraduate Level Engineering and Medical Courses through a common entrance test. With a cause and vision committed to the educational sector of the State, the board now serves over 150 educational institutes.
The exam pattern of WBJEE 2016 indicates the type of engineering entrance exam question paper.
• All Questions are objective in nature
• Exam will be conducted by means of two exam papers; Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry)
• Paper I will include 80 questions from Mathematics section and carry total of 100 marks
• Paper II will include 80 questions from Physics and Chemistry sections (40 questions each) and carry total of 100 marks
• Both the papers are to be completed within the duration of 2 hours.
• Both examination papers will have question from three categories, i.e., Category 1, Category 2 and Category 3.
• All category 1 questions draw 1 mark for correct answer; all wrong answers attract negative marking of ¼. All questions in this category will have single correct answer/option.
• All category 2 questions draw 2 marks for correct answer; all wrong answers attract negative marking of ½. All questions in this category will have single correct answer/option.
• All category 3 questions draw 2 marks each, no negative marks for wrong answers. Category 3 questions may have more than one correct option/answer.
