ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination / degree (Excluding Security discipline) is as under:

Wherever CGPA/ OGPA/ CPI/ DGPA or letter grade in degree is awarded, equivalent % of marks should be indicated in the online application as per norms adopted by concerned Univ/ Instt. Please also obtain a certificate to this effect from the Univ./ Instt, which shall be required to be submitted at the time of interview.
Minimum Physical Standard requirement for Security discipline:
Minimum Height: 168 cms. (163 cms. for tribes / hill-men)
Chest: 81 cms. (with expansion of 5 cms.)
For persons from state of Assam:
Minimum Height: 163 cms. (160 cms. for tribes / hill-men)
Chest: 79 cms. (with expansion of 5 cms.)
Age Limit (For all posts except Drilling and Cementing): 30 years for General & OBC (Creamy Layer) candidates; 33 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates; 35 years for SC/ST candidates; and for PWD candidates -- 40 years for General & OBC (Creamy Layer), 43 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) & 45 years for SC/ST category.
For Drilling and Cementing: 28 years for General & OBC (Creamy Layer) candidates; 31 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates; 33 years for SC/ST candidates.
The age limit is reckoned as on 26 August 2012
Candidates from reserved categories (OBC / SC / ST) applying for disciplines in which reserved posts are not available shall be treated against general category posts provided they otherwise meet the eligibility criteria.
Candidates applying for the Graduate Trainee 2012 exam should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Admission at all the stages of the exam will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. ONGC takes up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for Interview.
