The XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) Business School, Jamshedpur announced the launch of Global MBA programme on 12 January 2013. The B school is launching the program in partnership with Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western University, Cleveland, USA and School of Economics & Management of Tongji University, Shanghai, China.
The program will be a full time two year residential program and will kick start from August in 2013. Each partner schools will begin the process of admitting its quota of twenty students from the home country.
XLRI would be selecting the students completely based on the XAT’s performance , however Weatherhead School of Management will bank on GMAT and School of Economics & Management of Tongji University will have its own criteria.
In terms of the eligibility quotient, graduate students from any recognized university and with relevant experience are eligible for this program. The programme fees for the same, will be around Rs 25 lakh for the tenure of two years.
The programme will be held in four parts with three of the parts being taught in Shanghai, China; Jamshedpur, India and Cleveland, USA respectively, and will be taught by faculty of all these three B Schools.
Students must note that for the 4th term, each national group will be required to go back to its home school to complete local graduation requirements. In addition to in-class coursework, students will be involved in company projects during each of the first three terms. The students will work on these projects in mixed-nationality teams.
On the completion of the programme, students of each group will be awarded their home school's degree or diploma and also a joint certification from the 3-schools' consortium.
