The Haryana government made the New Year even more joyous for the state’s guest teachers by announcing on 24 December about the hike in their salary, to take effect from January 1, 2014 onwards.
The Haryana’s guest teachers will now receive INR 23,500 per month in place of INR 19,440 offered till now. Masters and language teachers of subjects - Hindi/Punjabi and Sanskrit will be offered INR 19,000 per month instead of INR 15,840.
Whereas, JBT and drawing teachers will get a hike of INR 3100, which will from the next year to become INR17,500 per month instead of INR 14,400 per month.
The decision of not treating guest teachers post as vacant, if a guest faculty is working for it, has also been decided was mentioned in the press release.
About16, 000 guest teachers in 2005 and 2006 were appointed by the state government to fill the vacant seats for JBT and post-graduate teachers (PGT) in the Haryana government schools.
"The guest faculty teachers will not be shifted from his or her working station and if in case of promotion or appointment or transfer of regular teacher a guest faculty is dislocated, his or her order of adjustment would be issued simultaneously or immediately thereof,'' as published in the issued press release from Haryana education department.
