Chandrayaan-2, India's most ambitious mission to the Moon, is once again ready to take-off from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. Its launch was called off due to technical snag but now Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has declared a new date for its launch. ISRO has declared in a recent tweet that launch of Chandrayaan-2 has been rescheduled for July 22, 2019.

Chandrayaan 2 was called off in the early hours of July 15 after the Indian Space Research Organisation encountered a technical snag. Launch vehicle of Chandrayaan-2, GSLV MK-III, will carry an orbiter, lander and a rover to uncover lunar secrets.

What was technical snag?

Chandrayaan-2 was ready to take-off from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota but ISRO suddenly called off its launch due to a technical snag. Later, it was found in various media reports that leak in cryogenic stage led to its cancellation. A media report said that after filling liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen fuel, helium was being filled. As per the scientific procedure pressure of helium bottle should go up to 350 bars and regulate the output to 50 bars. After filling helium, ISRO scientists found the pressure was dropping, indicating there was a leak.
