British Prime Minister, David Cameron was a on a three-day visit in India from 27 July to 29 July 2010. Cameron’s visit was meant for discussion on security provisions for Common Wealth Games. During his visit Cameron witnessed the signing of an agreement at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd's facility for the supply 57 Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer aircraft to the Indian Air Force and the Navy. The IAF would acquire 40 aircraft. The Navy, for the first time, would obtain 17 Hawk AJT aircraft at a total cost of Rs. 5100 crore. In 2004, India had signed a deal for the acquisition of 66 Hawks for the IAF. Cameron spoke at his first public event in India, on the Infosys Technologies' campus on 28 July 2010. The tripartite agreement involving HAL, BAE Systems and Rolls Royce was also signed during his visit.
