DGCA issued Air Transport Circular to Domestic Airlines in November 2010.

The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued Air Transport Circular 2 of 2010 on 19 Nov 2010 to all airlines. The circular was issued in the backdrop of insufficient and inadequate information available in the public domain on airfares and reports of scheduled domestic airlines charging excessively high tariff for various flights across their network during the high demand period. DGCA in order to maintain transparency in tariff publication directed all domestic airlines to-

•    Provide a copy of the route-wise tariff across its network in various fare categories, in the manner it is offered in the market, to DGCA on the first day of every calendar month. Changes in the established tariff are to be filed with DGCA within 24 hrs of effecting such changes.
•    Maintain all records pertaining to established tariff in its office.
•    Publish airfares on their websites or in daily newspapers.
