Hurun Report Inc released the Hurun Global Rich List 2015

The Hurun Report Inc on 3 February 2015 released the Hurun Global Rich List 2015, a ranking of the US dollar billionaires currently found in the world. The Hurun Global Rich List 2015 was sponsored by Chinese luxury home builder Star River Property.

The Hurun Global Rich List 2015 ranked 2089 billionaires from 68 countries. Around 649 billionaires saw their wealth increase and there were 341 new faces in the list. Although the list is expanded by 222 individuals, the total wealth dropped by 1.5 percent to 6.7 trillion US dollars.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates topped the Hurun Global Rich List 2015 followed by Mexican Carlos Slim on second position and Warren Buffett on third position.

In context of India, Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian holding the Rank 41 followed by Dilip Shanghvi at 53 Rank and Pallonji Mistry & family at 60 Rank.

In the list, names of 230 billionaires remained unchanged, 869 individuals saw their wealth decrease and 95 individuals dropped out of list.

Highlights of the List
• Bill Gates remains the world's wealthiest individual increasing his wealth to 85 billion US dollars while Mexican Carlos Slim is second in the list with wealth of 83billion US dollars.
• Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest member of the Top 10 rich list. His wealth increased by 42 percent, moving him up to number 7 in the list.
• New York remains the favourite city of the super-rich people with 91 billionaires while London is still fifth with 49 billionaires.
• Russia's capital city Moscow continued to be the number two city in terms of billionaire density with 73 billionaires.
• The Big Two in the list are the USA and China with 537 and 430 billionaires respectively, amounting to almost half of the billionaires of the world. While, Russia lost 10 billionaires.
• United Kingdom is down by one place to 5th with 80 billionaires.
• Technology produced the most billionaires in 2014 that are 297, accounting for 11 percent of the entire list. The US has the most number of tech billionaires followed by China.
• The richest tech billionaire in the list is widow of Steve Jobs Laurene Powell Jobs with 18 billion US dollars of wealth and ranks 70.
• Around 56 percent of new billionaires reside in Asia. In China, solar energy tycoon Li Hejun replaced e-commerce giant Alibaba's CEO Jack Ma as the country's richest man with a fortune of 26 billion dollars.
• Richest family in world: The Walton family, owner of Wal-Mart, with the wealth of 138 Billion US dollars is the richest family in the world by far.
• The oldest billionaires on the list are 99 year old David Rockefeller Sr with the wealth of 1.4 billion US dollars (Rank 1392) and Taiwanese Lin Yu-Chia with wealth of 1.1 billion US dollars (Rank 1760).

India in Hurun Global Rich List 2015
As per the list, India has overtaken Russia and United Kingdom in terms of the number of billionaires in the country. India has 97 billionaires, four more than Russia's 93.

India added 27 billionaires in 2014. Combined wealth of the Indian billionaires comes to 266 billion US dollars. Mumbai is headquarters to most of the Indian billionaires.

Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian with a fortune of 20 billion US dollars (Rank 41). The other Indians to figure in the top 100 are Dilip Sanghvi of Sun Pharma who is ranked 53, Pallonji Mistry & family who own Tata Sons are ranked at 60 and Wipro's Azim Premzi is ranked at 74.
